our stay at grand hotel cesare augusto was fantastic! the outdoor pool offered beautiful views of the sea and was surrounded by lovely white cliffs. we were upgraded to a garden view room, which was a nice touch. the location was perfect, just a short walk to the town square, making dining and shopping easy. breakfast had a nice spread too!

However, a new policy on bringing your own food and drinks was strictly enforced, which felt excessive, especially when previously this was not an issue. I also encountered a rude reception manager who did not reflect the generally warm atmosphere created by other staff.

The rooms feel a bit dated, as if they've skipped a few decades on the modern updates—definitely not anything fancy. Shower pressure leaves a lot to be desired. you might feel like you’re dancing in a gentle drizzle rather than getting a refreshing rinse. The pool closes at 6 PM, which is rather early for sunset lovers and feels like a missed opportunity for evening relaxation. Elevators could turn into a bit of a wait, especially during busy hours. I've had quieter buses rumbling through the night than the noise from the road outside, so pack some earplugs if you're sensitive to sound. Also, if you’re expecting a fully stocked minibar, be prepared for the occasional scavenger hunt for the basics.

Spent 4 nights here with my kids and the rooftop bar was a blast. The staff were super friendly and always ready to help us with whatever we needed, especially when the kids wanted extra towels after a long day at the pool.

It wasn't cheap, but for what you get, it's still acceptable.
